Heart-Centered Strategy: Gratitude

May you be grateful for your heart.

May you be grateful for the hearts close to you.

May you be grateful for the world's heart.

Throughout the {school} year, we often move from one thing to the next so quickly...I am grateful for reminders of gratitude and reflection. Now that we have been in school for several months, appreciate this time as a reminder to pause and fill our hearts with gratitude. This is especially powerful if you are experiencing a tricky year and/or escalated behaviors. Gratitude allows us to recharge our spark and see the potential within and beyond the classroom.

After experiencing the Heart-Centered Strategy (see below, an excerpt from my children’s book), I would encourage you to set a gratitude timer within your day/classroom. Consider adding moments to pause and note something at that moment to be grateful for. Maybe you would like to (re)start a daily routine and create a gratitude journal, after all, gratitude can change your brain's structure. Every night before I go to bed, I take a moment to write at least one gratitude I noticed during my day. Interested in learning more about gratitude and its impact?
